Attendance: You must attend 3 classes per week*. NMC tuition pays for only 3 classes per week. (Extra classes are $15 each.**) *Week = Mon. – Sun. If you have a current package it goes on hold, not useable.
**Extra Classes: $15 each. Payment due at the time additional class is purchased per week. No packages available for purchase until the last week of the 7.5 week course. Extra purchased classes do not count as make-up classes. All additional classes purchased during your NMC enrollment must be utilized before the course ends.
Make-up time: Any time before end of session w/ time to complete classes, with a Doctor’s Note ONLY (Dr.’s note only allows for you to make up your classes before the end of the course, it does not give you credit for missed classes!)
Daily Doubles: You are permitted to attend as many classes in one day as you wish, but only 1 per day counts toward your grade. DO NOT SIGN IN FOR THE DOUBLES!!

Requirements: You must attend 3 classes per week.
You must sign in or you will not receive credit for that class. You are responsible for signing yourself in.
Attendance and participation are required to receive credit for classes.
A journal entry after each class, 21 classes = 21 Entries DATE CORRESPONDING TO CLASS TAKEN*
*Hand in your journal stapled to your final exam & print your name on both!*
Final Exam: Most answers are from “Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class” by Bikram Choudhury, and the final with answers is included with this syllabus. A copy of the final without the answers will be available at the studio to complete at the studio on, or before your last class. Hand in your completed exam with stapled journal to the instructor to receive credit. No exams may be taken after your last class is completed.
Grading:
90% & Up = 4.0 Participation In Bikram 1 = 70% (Each missed class lowers grade 5%)
85% = 3.5 Participation In Bikram 2 = 70% (Each missed class lowers grade 10%)
80% = 3.0 Journal = 10% Miss 1 Entry and lose full 10%
75% = 2.5 (Journal corresponding to attendance is still 100%)
70% = 2.0 Final = 20% Miss 1 and lose full 20%
65% = 1.5
60% = 1.0
55% & Below = 0.0
PLEASE SIGN-UP FOR BIKRAM 2 NEXT TIME & RECEIVE ADDITIONAL CREDIT! IT IS NOT MORE DIFFICULT!
We recommend keeping up your practice a minimum of 3 times per week after the course is completed.

Bikram Yoga
MANDATORY INITIAL ORIENTATION SESSION IS REQUIRED for new and returning Bikram Yoga students. Orientation is at Bikram Yoga Studio (845 S. Garfield Ave., next to Agave Restaurant) - those who don't attend will be dropped from the course without refund. This is a Joint Offering with the Physical Education Area. The original Hot Yoga, 105 degrees, pure, powerful, authentic, unchanged, taught exactly as Hatha Yoga Master Bikram Choudhury intends it to be taught. Twenty-six poses, two breathing exercises, plus heat. Class meets for 90 minutes, three times per week for 7.5 weeks on a flexible schedule. There are 26 class meeting times throughout the week with morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend times to choose from. Call (231) 392-4798 for details. Pre-requisite: good heart health; participants should not be pregnant.
